I have turned lots of wood over the years, and several acrylic pens recently, but this is my first stabilized wood one. I have a close friend sharing a workspace and she is very sensitive to CA fumes, so I can't use CA as a finish. I just started playing with Enduro, but I can't find any info in a search about using it on stabilized pens. Has anybody used it this way? I was thinking about taking the pen down to 12000 MM, and just following Wayne's method with the Enduro. Any problems with this idea? Will the sealer get a good bite on the sanded blank, or should I stop earlier?
Thank you all,
Dave
p.s. The pen is gold dyed birdseye maple from AS (My freebie with my first order) I also have some dyed BEB from both AS and Beartooth. I am assuming that they will all be similar. (Although I have noticed that the Beartooth stuff is much lighter in weight than the AS stuff, and that the resin goobers hanging off the blank are very different.)
