First I am very new to pen turning. Ran thru my starter kit a few problems but I felt ready for something a little more difficult. So jumped on the 30 cal bolt action pen. Did an acrylic pen first turn out really nice. Gave me the confidence to do a deer antler. So into my antler stock I dive and find an old weathered rack. Finally got one drilled right and away we went finished product. Well my son stoled it over thanksgiving and took it work. So far I got 4 orders. Well then I read in here about repairing pens and so on. Then this got me to thinking and not so confident now. 4 days later being today I get an email showing my deer antler split length wise across the pen. My heart sank and I told him to hide quickly lol. Any thoughts on this cracking like that? Now this antler has been outside like 3 years also. I have been given another shed so I am holding back on turning it until I get then pen back so I can get a good look at it. Thanks for reading and any comments
