Sphere jig

I had one of these a few years back made of some wood and some metal parts.
So last week I decided to make an all metal one. I am not to happy with the adjustable tool post platform as it has a bit of a vibration in it. This one is 1/2" so I think I will make another one out of 3/4". What do you all think.

I think it's pretty sweet,vibration or not.Gotta be better than buying misshapen birch balls.Wish I had one for my vic.

I think the head on the base needs to be a larger diameter. Your "arm" doesn't have enough support.

Looking good! I would also consider a larger attachment/bolt to the base as well. Does this jig pivot at the top(bar) or mid base?

The bolt you see on the arm is only an attatchment bolt and it holds the plate (arm) to a 1" shaft that runs down into the base through 2 bearings for the pivo
