Some months back (maybe a couple of years), I was just fooling around in the shop and decided to try to make a sphere... using Bradford Pear, this is what I came up with... it's just about the size of a softball... the stand is red cedar that I think I turned for another project about the same time, but have long since forgotten what it was for.
I ran across it a couple of weeks back and decided to take it to market just for kicks and see what happens.... A lady came by yesterday, loved the sphere and stand and said it would be the perfect gift for her newly retired husband. She took it and went down the market to another booth that did cards and calligraphy... this is the result.
