special order , the pen

a few weeks back i posted that i received a special order http://www.penturners.org/forum/f18/new-special-order-103503/ well this is what came from it. i don't usually work in oak but this was a special request from a tree that grew (and fell) on a friends dad's property.

Nice looking pen. From the size of the chunk they gave you, it looks like you could probably turn a bowl out of what's left and make a nice Christmas gift to the owner of the pen (or you could casually show him the bowl with a price tag on it..)

You did a nice job with the pen.

I would love to but my little lathe can't handle big turnings. maybe santa will bring me a bigger one
