This spalted tamarind blank was a great deal, now I know why. The dark streaks were really hard and the sapwood was so pithy, I had to do an hours worth of sanding and filling. It came out pretty well, all considered, but it took way too long and it isnt perfectly round everywhere...has a "experienced" quality to it. It is 10" tall.

quite appealing..lovely wood & worth your splendid efforts

Very cool. I'd suggest sealing it as spalt is bacteria and fungus, so it may be a little on the unhealthy side to have peppercorns rubbing all against it.
