Thanks Gary for looking, and yes I didn't see that until I took it to work to show it off and everyone asked me how I got the face on it......well it took them forever to point that out to me..for all I could see was the heart....other forms of spalt and the tree markings made this incredible design for me......I had saved it for my daughter.....she is constantly wanting it....told her when she got old enough to appreciate mother nature she could claim it, and when I am dead and gone hahahaha.

I'm not crazy about the shape, but that is just me. The wood itself is outstanding, as is the workmanship. I'm sure your daughter will keep it close to her heart(when she gets it).

It is a different shape, some times different is good, I like the spalt pattern, I'll bet you won't find another one like that for a while.

sometimes "standards" get boring...this pen would help people with arthritis in their hands use such a skinny slim..
