Travelling in MN this past week, went into the Mall of America and found a shop called 'The Art of Shaving'. It's a high end shop – really expensive, but nice stuff.

The only bar shave soap they had was $26 per bar – $46 if purchased in a simple wood bowl and lid. A couple of years ago, I bought some from Burt's Bees at about the same price. Seems exorbitant for a bar of soap.

Does anyone know where you can buy shaving soap a bit more reasonably than this?

Shoot me a PM. We "travel" to shows with a soap maker. They make a special shave soap for me. The can also make one that custom fits your hand make shave mug, AS LONG AS YOU MAKE THEM ALL THE SAME SIZE. It's made with goat's milk and the best shave EVER. It puts "The Art of Shaving" soap to shame!!!

You are in Canada, so you'll need to order quantities (because you have to Governments screwing you on shipping). I'll send you a sample (you pay postage). If it is not the best lather and best shave you've ever brushed on your face.....don't buy it.

I'm just back home after a week on the road. As usual, you guys have blown me away with all the great info in response to my question. I'll check all this stuff out.

Andy, I'll send you a PM right after this.

Thanks all
Steve

I must be missing something. I just rip it all off with the mach III using plain old shower water. Have to say it's not always the smoothest, but I don't grow a 5:00 o'clock shadow by 11 either.

So you boys are using a badger hair brush to lather up the soap and smooth that on the old baby face?

not like my old man every taught me anything besides how not to be a father.
