Sometimes you need a new shop cabinet

This kind of work is definitely not pen turning though important. My HF compressor died and the new compressor did not have enough height in the old cabinet. I'm definitely not a big object guy and I'm glad this is done. The old one looks like it went to war and lost.

The new compressor arrives today they say. It is new, has more power, a larger tank and is about 30 dB quieter. Love that last part a lot.

In my old shop, which was a two car garage with two cars in it, space was a premium. To buy a tool I'd lay in the center of the garage and dream up storage above. Amazing what you can do. With the same footprint I get two tools.

Compressor arrived in a very nice box delivered by FedEx. Home Depot sold it for under $400 with free shipping.

Damn it is quiet. Now a favorite tool. Fills from empty to full in about 3 minutes, relives pressure and shuts off. Lots of air inside.

Did I tell you it was quiet? Oh yeah baby.

Planer gets a 4" hose connected to my Jet collector. Most dust goes where it should if I don't forget to turn it on...
