Found these guys on the doorstep of my shed this morning.

They belong to a stray calico that showed up very pregnant at the end of June. I believe she had these on the 4th of July because I saw hwe on the 3rd and she was still preggo and on the 4th she was in the bushes all covered in afterbirth. I thought that she may have abandoned them because I didn't see them but she is apparently a better momma than I thought.

Scott,

About 15 yrs ago under a gauze bush front of our house I found five kittens absolutely Feral,so we took them to the RSPCA, less than 6 mths later the mum cat was back with five more so we kept two kittens never could get near the mother, one tiny kitten female was pregnant and the other ginger malequite feral and full of rip tear and bust, brought them inside. A month and a half later five kittens ginger 4 mottled 2. At this time two have passed our grocery bill is hiding a real lot of cat food still. Three have pased on but we are so involved in our cats love them dearly. In a couple of yrs I will be 80 and our cats are around the same age in cat yrs, so much happiness. We also have two terriers so we feel very fortunate.

With Wilma and me our family is around 70 so penmaking is cheaper than family and animals.

Your kittens took me back those many years thanks for the memories.

Kind regards Peter.

Although I love dogs to, I'm a cat person deep inside. I didn't set out to have 7 indoor cats but circumstances brought them to me and I Love each and every one of them. I am also involved in educating the city and my neighbors about the feral cat population in my area. So far I've trapped and had spayed or neutered 5 cats and when the Calico weanes these kittens she will also go to be spayed but she is very friendly and I think if her feline leukemia and aids tests are negative I may offer her a place inside. These little kittens seem to be pretty friendly and I don't think socializing them for a home will be too difficult. I gave them some canned kitten food and they took right to it and they had no problems with me picking them up and petting them. Momma was close by and she seemed okay with me being around her and the babies so I suspect that she had them close by and was very good at concealing them and brought them to me when it was time for them to wean. She lets me pick her up and she purrs when I pet her so it looks promising. If she won't come inside then I have shelter available and I will continue to put out food as I have in the past for all the feral and stray cats in my area.

Awwww, they're so sweet!! We have 6 cats, but have a "doggie" door for them to come and go ... but we also live way in the country, so it's not a problem. Almost all of our animals were strays or dropped off (we live at the end of the road).
Glad you don't live close ... I'm a sucker for kittens!
