Andrew the Holly/ Blackwood pen---that's just showing off--
How in the heck did you keep the holly so white.
I am going to give that a try---thanks for posting

Andrew,
I have one of your pens in my private collection that I love!
Now as I look at the first one I find myself screaming at my wife to come get the wallet from me!
Very nicely done. Just the right amount of contrasting colors to portray both class and peace.

CINDY!!! Hurry up! Throw me down and grab the wallet!

Many thanks all for the comments.

There was a bit a blending with the two woods, but carefull cleaning of the blank between sanding stages with white spirit son cleaned up the Holly back to its original colour.

I did a tutourial on how to do the 'Swirling Segments', but i managed to loose it when i had a major computer crash.
I will do another one and get it posted, what is the best method of posting the Tutorials[?]. They are relatively easy to do so hopefully i should be able to get it done in the next couple of days.

Eagle, the inlay is an actual piece of gem-stone set in an natural void in the wood, this void was drilled out slightly to match the shape of the stone and then i used epoxy to glue it in place. The gem stone had been tumbled and polished so was very smooth to start with and it only needed a bit of final sanding to get to the finished surface.
