Made several pens as gifts for friends and family over the last couple months (inbetween traveling for work and my shopsmith burning a bearing up). Mostly pens, and a couple other projects thrown in.

EDIT: please disregard the lint/pet hairs 😬

Nice work. My favorite is the second: the green and brown. The colors work off each other magnificently and combine with the kit to give a real antique feel. Thanks for sharing.

WOW !!

Lovely bunch of pens !!

Question :- How do you get your pictures to be so large ?

Whenever I post pictures here on IAP, which is rare, they are only about 1.5" square and they expand by about 2x when you click on them.

I'd like to be able to post big pictures like yours in order to show fine detail.

Thank you! I agree. That is probably the nicest all around that I have made so far. I'm trying to figure out what resin they use so I can make my own. I've been using Alumilite(pics 1, 5, and 8) but am not liking the finish after turning and sanding. The one you're refering to was sanded to 800 grit, one coat of thin CA for the burl, and friction polish. Unless I finish with CA, the Alumilite has a matte finish after sanding up through the mesh sanding pads(I think 15,000 grit?) and I've been getting a lot of bubbles, which is probably mostly down to technique I'm sure.

I made this post using my phone browser. I had to upload each photo individually, and they showed up full size. Not sure exactly why, but that was my process. Good luck.

Wonderful assortment - I love the darts! 👏 👏

Those turned out great, but were the most time consuming project I have had(so far!). Such a pain to get the profile (almost) the same on each dart. Less than a gram difference between them. Made them a couple months ago, but don't have a dart board, so didn't get to try them until Christmas day. They are a little nose heavy and needed bigger flights, but worked great once you got used to the way they fly. I was a little concerned that the resin wouldn't hold up when they inevitably dropped, but so far so good.

Nice. Did you weigh the darts

I did. I looked up what weight is used most by the pros. The kits come with a little bag of lead for weighting. It was a couple months ago now, so I don't remember exactly, but I think each dart was weighted to within 1g of 21g.(my scale only does whole grams)
