snakeskin bullet pen opinion

I just received some beautiful snakeskin blanks from Seamus(wow that was fast!) and started on a bolt bullet and got to thinking, is there a right and wrong way to aim the scales? The pointy end of the scales pointed down at the nib looks right to me, but would like some other opinions before I assemble. Thanks to all replies in advance! George

wow! you got that package quick!

I always point my scales upward toward the finial end of the pen, but that is just how i like it

Ask 10 people and you will probably get 5 ups and 5 downs. I would go with what you like better. Personally, I like the pointed ends up.

Thanks for the replies Don and Seamus..givin I've seen some of the beauties you've both turned out, I believe I'll go with the scales up for now. Pics to follow later:wink:

To me the bolt is the back end of the pen. Scales on a snake point back so I would figure up. Just my logic.

I point them down, but don't have any reason why!

A snake's head would point toward the nib. Which way would the scales go? That's my logic.

This is a good question. Send two to me, I will make two pens, Each pointed a different way, post the pics and you can decide which way to point the rest.
