My third Smoking Pipe from PSI. The blank is an Eddie Stone hybrid from Exotic Blanks called Blood Money. The wood in the blank is Aussie burl, and the acrylic has shredded currency and bits of red paint embedded in it. Very cool blank.

I don't know if it was necessary, but I painted the bore and tube, and colored the epoxy.

To finish it I used 220-600 grit dry, and 800-3,000 grit also dry. Then I used Pens Plus.

How much are we seeing these go for? Heard current market looking for glass blown type. Trying to expand product line.

You can get pipe parts so much cheaper than the PSI kits. Just do a google search. I found a place on Facebook that sells everything and its way less. I don't make pipes anymore, but if you want to, the parts are much cheaper elsewhere.

I don't think $10 is a bad price. I would rather order the kits from PSI, than to try and adapt different parts.

In the previous thread about those Penn State pipes, I wondered whether Penn State was taking a legal risk to sell those pipe kits without verifying the age of the customer. Selling tobacco and drug paraphernalia to minors is illegal in some parts of the country. I am not sure whether the legal age is 18, 21, or "it depends."

Well ... I just clicked on @qquake's link and NOW it pops up a dialog box asking me to confirm that I am 21 years old. That's new. Penn State must have read my previous comment, or someone else made them aware of the issue.

By the way, I don't think it is working right, but at least there is a prompt. I clicked NO (I am not over 21) and it let me through anyway. It is hard to know if I could add one to my cart, because it is out of stock. It did let me click on "Add to waiting list".

(For the record, I am curious about the legalities of it, but have no interest in actually buying or making one.)
