I've removed the limits on the number of photos and the number of simultaneous ads in the Deals Forum. Previously the limits were 5 photos and one ad open at a time.

This should be more convenient for people liquidating lots of stuff, and I know we can count on member courtesy to keep things from getting out of hand.

I've always tried to not complain about things on forums because I consider them, "someone elses house, and I'm a guest." I don't think it's my place to tell someone how to run their house, and if I don't like the rules, I don't have to stick around. I'm here by choice, and while I'm making that choice, I believe I should at least be respectful of the owner's who are gracious enough to provide this forum for me to enjoy.

That said. Now that you've opened things up a bit, I would like to convey that when I first came to this forum, my first stop was in the classifieds section. I've been on enough internet forums to know how to navigate around the constant bumping that some people do, so I just dealt with it. However, since the rules tightened up a bit in the classifieds. I hardly ever go there, and have yet to place any of the items I'd normally put there (just the sort of fare that your basing your decision on).

I appreciate your efforts to taking a proactive approach to tweaking things for improvement.

Thanks for making this post as I have felt the same way. I have been hesitent to mention my concerns because it's not my sandbox and there are no doubt perfectly good reasons for the 'new' rules.

Still, it feels like the result is that the classifieds no longer regularly have ads from 'regular people' wanting to sell off some stuff and are instead have become mainly a place for people to advertise their own commercial pursuits. The result for me is that I hardly ever pull up that section of the forums anymore whereas I used to consistently go there first and often bought stuff from other turners.

What I personally noticed before the rule change was the same people selling the same type of things all the time, not just getting rid of some extra items they had accumulated. This, in my opinion, was a business, even if they did not have a business name. Now if they have the same type of items for sale repeatedly, they have to sell in the classified for a small fee.
What Jeff just changed was the "Deals" forum for those doing "house cleaning" and want to sell some individual items.

I can't disagree with any of that as it's the "house cleaning" that I mainly had in mind (I can think of some things I've been needing to put up). Like I said, it's nice to see that he's doing what he can to make improvements. Maybe I'll even start frequenting that section more.
