Evelyn got me some bowl blanks for Christmas. Here is one of they turned into a nice little bowl. I'm not 100 sure but I believe it cocobolo. This is the first bowl I've done with a chuck which was another gift. I used Pens Plus for the finish. I had a couple of problems but I'm still really happy with how it came out. All C & C welcome.

I think it's neat how us guys can be happy getting a chunk of wood for Christmas.
 
Thank you for all the fantastic comments. Ed, Pens Plus is a type of friction polish, it made by Doctor's Woodshop. I got mine it Woodcraft but there are other places. I really like it and it really easy to use.

Nice bowl Dan the shape and finish are great. I am not sure it is cocobolo though, usually there are some lighter golden or orange streaks in cocobolo. It looks like it could be Claro Walnut or one of the rosewoods like Bolivian or east Indian.
