PEN 1
Artist Statement: I started with the traditional slimline pen kit from PSI, and only used the transmission, the tip and the clip. I made the center band and the cap with ebonite. The wood blank is Burmese Rosewood.

Artist Statement: Bloodwood with Maple veneer, CA finish.
PEN 3
Made of piano keys, and warthog teeth for the nib and finial.
PEN 4
Artist Statement: Made in the style of a vertex from brass and aluminum. The first picture is a teaser that shows the parts used.

Artist Statement: Slimline Cartridge Twist. I used a real .308 round and split the shell for the forward & rear pieces. I drilled the bullet portion with two sized bits, to fit the ink insert. A bushing insert was made for the shell so that the slimline tube would fit. The transmission was added. The main blank used a portion of the slimline tube to engage the upper portion of the transmission, while the remainder of the hole was made oversized to "float" over the lower tube. A tenon holds the head of the shell. A small slot was cut for the clip, which was epoxied in place. The body is satin finished claro walnut. The "twist" takes place between the walnut body & the forward shell.

Artist Statement: For most turners, well at least for me, a Sierra (Manhattan, Gatsby, etc) is the next pen made after a Slimline. This faux Bright Copper Sierra uses every piece from the kit except the center band. I only had to modify the clip. It uses a Paduak/Oak herringbone as the main blank.

Artist Statement: Shout out to the go-to kit in the US from 1959 thru the early to mid 1980's.

Artist Statement: This is my entry which is a sharp tip closed end fatline made from an Artisan slimline kit. The body is curly Koa with black acrylic centerband.
