Skewchigouge - Any Opinions

Does anyone here use a skewchigouge? What do you think about it?

I've got one, haven't used it a lot. It is not as catch proof as the claim, but is pretty good. I've found that if I'm not careful I can make a groove much deeper than I planned. I'm still teaching myself how to use the various tools and find I prefer to use the traditional tools for making the various cuts even though I'm not very good with most of them, specially making beads with the skew. As such it spends most of the time on my tool rack. If you want I could send it too you to try out before you buy one. I'm sure I wouldn't miss it for awhile.

I had one, Didn't find it a particularly useful tool so I reground it into a pyramid point tool.

Like most "multi-purpose" tools, it was not great at anything. Used it for a couple weeks, now it sits.

Learn to use a skew - MUCH more useful.

I don't have one and never used one, but I use a skew as often as I can... it's a good multi-use tool.

I watched the video of this tool. It reminded me of the infomercials on TV, that promise to do everything but walk the dog.:bulgy-eyes:

From your responses, I'm glad I asked. That's $35 I can used somewhere else.:biggrin:

What Gary said, maybe I follow Mudder's way and make it into something usable....
