Size of Pics when posting

I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of the recommended size of a pic when posting. I can't seem to find the parameters and my pics are too large right now. Thanks for your help.

I'm settled in Oregon and have the shop up and running. Looking to plug back in to the IAP and see what's going on. I might be getting my vaccination next week, but I'm tired of the isolation. As an extrovert, I miss getting out to club meetings. Perhaps coming back into this community will help somewhat and I still have much to learn. Hope everyone is doing ok.
 
I usually resize to 800x600 or the next size up at most. Being in a rural area big pictures take way too long to open. I also load the pictures here because when on a picture site like PhotoBucket if you stop paying or the site shuts down the pictures linked are gone from the threads too.
