Sierra and Corn Cob

[rd_ab_penman]

Gold and Black Twist Ballpoint and Dried Indian Corn Cob. Stabilized using Minwax Wood Hardner, filled voids with Med. CA, finished with 10 coats of Med. CA, wet sanded 600 thru 1200 and polished with Hut Ultra Gloss.

I first remove kernels, cut to length, drill a 7mm hole thru the blank, soak in Minwax Hardener for 2 hours, remove and let dry overnight. Drill the blank for the kit I am going to use and glue in the tubes.

I'm beginning to think that no matter what finish you use it is perfect. That is a beautiful pen. Someday I will get my finish like that.

Les, Have you tried the Minwax hardner on Pine cones?? I wonder if it would make them stay together better?
