I loved the ape prank posted in this forum.
More than a few years ago, the space shuttle was in orbit on April 1st. A local radio station announced that the shuttle was returning early and was going to land at the Middletown Pennsylvania airport at about 11:00am in the morning because of a mechanical problem.
NASA maintains a list of airports around the world that the shuttle <COULD> land at because their runways are longer than usual with straight approaches and no obstacles. I believe our airport is No 146 or so.
People started showing up at the airport waiting for the shuttle to land. The airport manager finally called NASA to confirm that the shuttle was inbound before the hoax was revealed.:biggrin::biggrin:
