There is a restaurant call the Carrot Tree it in the Yorktown battlefield area in Yorktown, VA as such its in an area controlled by the national park service. Due to the shutdown the owner was told he had to close until the end of the shutdown. He would still have to maintain the building, maintain the security system and all utilities and insurance. All of the people who worked there would be out of work as well. Well the owner closed for a few days. One of his customers ask when he thought he could reopen as one of his all time customers was turning 100 and wanted to have her favorite meals Ham biscuits and Brunswick's stew. He told him to bring her to the restaurant he was reopening no matter what even if it meant being arrested. He had people who had bills to pay and he still had to pay the bills for the restaurant even thought it was closed. Since then people have been coming from all over the state to show their support and have a nice meal. Evelyn and I did that today and had a really great lunch. If your in the Yorktown, VA area stop in and have a great meal. I think it's great that there are still people that are willing to take a stand so do what is right.
