I have never understood the marketing concept behind Grizzly selling the Shop Fox brand next to their own. This one seems to have features above the famous G0555. Coming from the outlet store, one could surmise they are discontinuing it. If you get full warranty, it could be a good deal. Like anything, you must compare features vs. price and make a decision.

Have nothing bad to say about the Shop Fox bandsaw.

If were in the market for a 14" bandsaw today, would be looking at the Rikon 14" Deluxe bandsaw Model 10-325. Yes it cost more than either the Shop Fox or G0555. Comparable with Grizzly G0457 but, cheaper. Think both Rockler & Woodcraft and others carry them. If you live near one of these stores might be worth a look. This saw goes on sale pretty often.

I have the G0555 without riser kit, just not a big fan of riser kits. This saw has served me well, only real complaint which is minor, is dust collection. Use the 4" dust port and another hose under the table.

I have had a Shop Fox 19" band saw for around 3 years now. I am happy with its performance. resawing, bowl blanks, pen blanks I have never been dissappointed with its power and soild performance. The fence is well made and easy to adjust and dial in so to speak. The only thing I questioned was the mobile base that is made for this saw.
Now remember, it is made FOR this saw. IF you will ever want to open the lower door, like to change the blade, You will have to raise the saw in the base by approx. 3/4". I used a permanant 3/4" piece fitted into the base. An extra required step not noted in any literature.
