Shelf life of BLO?

I've researched my books but can't locate anything that states a shelf life for BLO. Once opened what is the shelf life? Any thoughts?

No shelf life if kept closed.

I agree-------it's oil.
I have about 20 gallons of it that's been around for years---I do stir it up before I use it.

A quick Google search yields conflicting information,

this one says 24 months:

Personally, I've had a can for about 8 years and it's just about gone but I have noticed that it does get thicker and thicker as the years go by.

Darn! I hoped to blame my errors on expired oil. I couldn't find a born on date :redface:

I head back for a little re-work.
