I purchased a drawknife from a friend today as it was his last day at work. He has 5 draw knives and had just picked up this one and hadn't done anything with it yet. It's hard to make out who the manufacturer is. I've been cleaning it up tonight, but it definitely needs to be sharpened. Has anyone ever used the Gatco sharpening system on a drawknife?

I just used it to touch up two of my broom knives and got to thinking it might work on other things. The drawknife will mostly be used at work for working on small coopered pieces and other little projects. And demonstrations. People love seeing someone use a drawknife.
Any suggestions are appreciated!

I have not used that system on a draw knife. I'm pretty sure all old draw knives are pretty soft. I start sharpening old ones I have with a good file, then follow that with a hand held water stone.
