Had to tell folks who might understand.

I get migranes. Sometimes they get so bad that i get what amounts to an alcoholic blackout minus the vague memories of bars and strippers named glitter. When the headaches get this bad, I will get a minimum of two, one major the next a day or so later like an after shock.

Last Thursday was the biggie. I don't remember most of Thursday except for the pain. Friday is cloudy and the aftershock came Saturday. I tend to lose things too. It usually takes a couple days to find everything. I have been looking for my carry pens for two days now and they are no where to be found. I had hoped ther were at work or the the business. Nope. At least the wife did not find them in the washing machine. Two Jr. Gents gone.

By the way if I made any snarky comments I apologize.

Man that stinks.... As a fellow migraine sufferer I feel your pain. I can tell when I am about to get one and I head for the darkest quietest hole I can find. I hope your pens turn up soon!

I get them as well. I don't have memory loss but just hurt so bad it puts me in a very bad mood before I know what's happening. Then nothing but cool cloth over my eyes and a dark room. I've done the drugs but never the shots and don't plan on doing them as nothing really helps. I can go months somethimes and not have a headache then bam, out of nowhere

I know your pain my friend.I have been getting them for over 30 years now.And like you I usually lose about three days when I have one of the real bad ones.I'll go to the hospital and get a shot of demeral but it really doesn't kill the pain it just easies it off enough to go to sleep.I hope you are better now and it won't come right back.

I feel you pain. I get them twice a year spring and fall. I've remember have them since I was a little kid. This year has been really bad. Hope you feel better.

Linda has the same issues, as did Lou (DCBluesman). Starting Wednesday evening a big one hit Linda. These are the type that no light is allowed and her head is packed in ice packs and at the same time taking level three narcotics. These happen even with taking a preventative. A part of this last one that is still ongoing was caused by a sudden reduction in caffeine. These are no fun for the sufferer or the family members around them. They are debilitating at best.

Guess I can always make more pens.

The only thing that works on my head aches is silence and Excederine Tension Headache. No idea why it works but it dulls the pain enough to function.

I too suffer from migranes...I take imitrex and it knocks them out, and I can continue as normal. I carry imitrex with me everywhere I go.

Before imitrex, I suffered just like you do. I felt your pain.

I'm very sorry to hear of your illness. Having suffered from the occasional migrain in the past, I can relate to just how debilitating they are, and mine were nowhere near what you suffer from. I sometimes think that everyone should experience a serious migrain and be really seasick at least once in their life to know how badly you can feel and not have a life-threatening illness.

I hope that you're feeling better and that the pens show up safe and sound.

My Linda suffered with them for 30 years, all we could do was take her to the doctor and the hospital had a standing order from her doctor that when we brought her in , to just give her something to put her out so we could take her home and put her in a dark room with cold compress's on her head. I feel for you my friend after watching helplessly while Linda suffered with them and not be able to help!

Hope you are better soon !!!

I'm sorry to hear that,But let me ask you if I may;Do you use CA glue on your pens, and can CA fumes affect this condition?Hope you get well soon.

MULTI YEAR HEADACHE CURED

Everyone,

In my personal situation I was having nasty persistent headaches, wake up with it, go to work with it, come home with it, miserable all the time.
I'd take Ibuprofen (800 mg). 1 1/2 - 2 hours later it was back and worse (rebound). MD sends me to a neurologist. 5-6 months wasted there. First daily med and "when it gets really bad" prescriptions did nothing! Second go round, daily RX did nothing, Tramadol for when it got bad did ease the headache for a while, then it returned worse than before (rebound), but it would make a mess out of me.

A friend at work insisted that I visit his Chiropractor. A thorough check up on the first visit (Wednesday), along with neck and upper-mid back X-Rays. Second visit Friday, was my neck ever a mess. NO CURVE TO IT, as nature intended. Twisted severely. After a few weeks of 3 adjustments per week there were breaks in the headache. Some weeks later, late one afternoon, I realized, I had no headache all day. Now I am headache free except for some sinus & allergy issues. The 10,000 IU of Vitamin D3 I've been taking daily has greatly eased that over what it would have been had I not taken it, in this record allergy season we're having.

My neck appears to have been twisted from a nasty vehicle wreck 4 1/2 years previous. My truck was hit in the drivers side by a Jeep at 45 MPH. God spared me, I walked away, with few bumps and scrapes. Air bag saved me. Hospital found little wrong with me. Wrong kind of doctors.

Interesting note. My Chiropractor was formerly a pharmacist. When MD's and his pills couldn't cure his back problems, contrary to the advice of his own brother a DO, he sought out a Chiropractor.

Making a long story short. PILLS CANNOT MOVE BONES, a good Chiropractor can. He had great success, and is now a Dr. of Chiropractic.

I use CA to glue in tubes. I have not used CA as a polish since I noticed that my eyes burned and face itched after the last time. I work in a very well ventilated area so i decided that CA finishes were not for me. Too bad since I have got some REALLY nice burls now to use. Outside the burn and itch I did not get a headache.

Charles,
My neck is a mess rear ended in the early nineties and a mess since. I started getting head aches my senior year in high school, the same age my mother started getting them, her sister, and my little brother. After reading reports of strokes happening after chiropractic neck adjustments I am weary.

I get them once or twice a year, go to the DR, he gives me some shot, and I sleep in the office for half an hour to an hour, BOOM good to go.

Mark, I can't relate but I sure can sympathize. My old boss..his name was Mark, too...used to get the worst migranes and I would be in charge for the few days he was "down". Seriously debilitating..:beat-up:

Best wishes,

Chris

I had serious migraines like the ones you describe during my early teens. I would get 3 or 4 every year. I stopped getting them for 25 years, then a few years ago I had two more, but they were about 1/10th as bad. They were still highly painful & limiting, but I wasn't completely down.

Many people don't realize there are many levels limitations, nausea, pain, etc. Some people are mildly affected while others are brought all the way down. The only thing I've had to compare to the pain of a severe migraine was a kidney stone. And I believe the migraines were worse.

Hope you get to feeling better & my thoughts and prayers are with those of you who suffer from these monsters!

I too suffer from migranes and cluster headaches. I kept a headache log last year and kept track of the weather changes, what I ate, drank, etc.
I had a cluster headache that lasted 28 days in a row.

I found a couple of items that drastically improved the frequency of headaches...no diet drinks including crystal light, and STAY HYDRATED! I believe one of the most common headache triggers is dehydration and diet.

Camera flashes also set mine off.....
