separating barrel from bushing

We all know that after ca finish the problem is separating the barrel from the bushing. Has anyone used a wire between while still spinning? Do you see any problem with doing this?

Try it, it might just work. For me every time I try to separate the bushing, I end up chipping the end of the blank no matter what method I try. That is why I switched over to no bushing finishing.
 
I found the best way to avoid getting the blank stuck to the bushings, is to put a light coat of oil or wax on the bushing before finishing with the CA.

Ditto re problems separating bushings....you can also buy these Eliminator bushings from John at penturnersproducts. You'll still likely need a method for removing CA from tube ends -- I use 120G PSA discs cut into small squares for mine.

My setup for sanding CA off blank ends (mandrel rod with pen mill sleeve in collet chuck -- Jacob's chuck in tailstock should also work):
