Got this one finished today, it is my third completed segmented item.
The partly finished vase before this one has a ventilation problem on the shoulder so that is back on the bench.
This vase is made from Jarrah, Tasmanian Oak, Maple veneer and Brown Wood???
The vase is 7.75in tall and 7.25in wide and consists of 172 pieces. The rings were cut, glued and flattened on one side, then glued to the base and flattened again and so on.
It was sanded to 400 grit and finished with Shellawax "Glow".
I'm rather proud of this one.

BE PROUD! That is beautiful Bob. All elements (choice of timbers, alignment of segmenting, proportions, etc) all are wonderful.

I like the basic shape of the vase - a very nice profile.

This was a lot more than a "days" work.

Well Bob, is no reason why you shouldn't the proud of this piece, for your third, it is very well made and shaped...!

My first impression was "terracotta" the brown/redish is very eye catching due to the lighter colour wood accents, great choice of timbers...!

I don't think that I have the patience to do this type work, I may one day if I have to be limited to mobility issues but for now, a prefer to be moving around...!

Masterful Bob. It is obvious that you put a lot of effort into the planning and execution of that piece. You will surely display that in a prominent place. You have great cause to be proud of that piece.

Thanks for the feedback Guys, This project was a real learning curve for me, and I can guarantee there were a few "MOMENTS" along the way.
The whole thing took about 10 days from design to polish, but quite a bit of that was drying time.
