Not really a bowl not really a vase not sure what to call it.......
Any way maple base, oak center, maple top and mesquite rim. The top piece of maple I lightly stained to bring out the grain.

I call them "vessels" or UFO's...!

Well, that sort of glue-ups work well when one doesn't have thick enough woods to make deeper pieces and , if this was not the reason you done it like that, you done a good job with the glue-ups, the lines are straight and clean so, a great job overall, congrats...!:wink:

Looks good. Did you do the hollowing after the woods were glued, or did you get a head start by rough hollowing each half prior to gluing?

I glued up solid boards with no prior hollowing. I havent tried the pre hollow glue up yet. Although I do want to do a segmented ring in the center (ironwood with copper spacers) next. Need to find the formula for making the cuts.
