This pen was largely done as an exercise in deep relief sculpting, which is a facet of hand engraving. This was my first attempt at doing it on a larger scale. I used black acrylic for the pen, and silver for the overlay, clip, and cap band, which all contain sculpted leaf elements. I blackened the silver because I liked the look. As it wears, the high spots will start to show through as silver and create nice contrast. No glue was used in this pen, and all components thread together. This is advantageous in the event that the silver parts need to be re-blackened.

Definitely has the WOW factor. High spots wearing to show silver highlights will increase the WOW, imho.

I look forward to seeing your new creations.

Your pens are in a league of their own. Absolutely stunning pen mate. Everything about it I love, except 1 thing. It's not in my collection 😜

I think a new category of beauty and craftsmanship needs to be created for this.

Just amazing. I think the other posts here sum up my reaction pretty well. I have never seen a handmade/carved pen like this, nor do I think I will ever see another, except coming from you. Just amazing. Thank you for sharing.

What an incredible work of art.

I'm having a hard time conceiving how this all came together.

Very impressive. Thanks for sharing it.
