I was setting up my scroll saw yesterday and a customer came in and asked me a question that I will pass on to you folks who might know.

Can you use jewler's blades on a scroll saw to cut mother of pearl or other shell?

I've never used a scroll saw (found mine and just got around to replacing the damaged cord). Considering the cost of mother of pearl I will not be learning on it, but I am curious.

The short answer is yes. Zero clearance insert and about a 2/0 blade should do. Might have to go finer. Need a good scrollsaw to do a decent job.
