Been all over the place looking for a screw chuck( I guess that's what you call it...like for turning bowls or maybe bottle stoppers) and a 60 degree dead center. I would like to find both at one place but haven't done so yet. Anybody know?

You can find screw chucks at PSI, Packard, CSUSA, Woodcraft . . . etc. If it's a screw chuck you want, my vote would be for a Glaser screw chuck. For some reason, I'm getting the feeling that you're really after a scroll chuck. Right?

I've got a scroll chuck. I'm needing a screw chuck and a dead center. I saw the screw chucks and PSI but I was hoping to find both at one place. Didn't want to pay shipping twice.

If your live center head unscrews, you might have a 1/2"-20 thread on the end. You could eaisly thread a block of steel and then drill a hole in the end of the block. This is something I could do for you if you have a spare morse taper which is has that thread on it. I don't trust myself quite yet to set up the lathe to make the taper, but I really should try to some day!

Steve I waited till i got to work to post this just for you. And I am operating(I'm operating this here computer.)[}:)] Wasnt sure what a pin chuck was but looked it up and i used a small piece of wood on my faceplate with a small screw in the middle to acomplish the same thing. Dont know if that would work for what you're doin but did for me.:D
