scratched!

a pen that i have had hanging around for a few months just sold on ebay. i guess from getting moved around i got some fine scratches on the gold clip. how can i polish them out before i ship? i dont have a buffing wheel.

Maybe a little Renwax on a microfiber towel could help?

I wouldn't even try and remove the scratches. I'd just dismantle the pen and swap the clip.
Hopefully the sale will net enough to cover the cost of the replacement part and convince you to store your pens more protectively in future.

Technically it is completely impossible to remove a scratch in ANY material. You can only either fill the scratch or lower the surounding material surface to the level of the bottom of the scratch

I tried removing or polishing a clip with my dremel and it took the finish off in a blink of an eye, then I had a silver but very shiny clip. and a lesson learned

Just replace the clip and keep moving forward!
