Well ive been staring at one of these for a long time kinda hoping i would win the lottery or one would just magically appear in the workshop.

Since both of those plans epicly failed, and its a safe bet one will not be presenting itself to me this festive season its time to bite the reality bullet and start a savings account so i can get my hands on one. Planning on moving in the new year so needless to say i dont want to be taking delivery of a half tonne toy before then.

But this..... mark my words.... This, will one day, be mine.

So do i Peter

Chuck - not a clue what fantastic thing to make but im sure il figure that out. Though for the main - the coolant pump is my main attraction, and the extra grunt from its motor being the perfect companion for carbide tooling - Bring on the titanium

oh not forgetting the DRO.... not an essential addition... but they do make life a lot easier!

Chuck, that lathe should look familiar to you. And Brad, you have excellent taste. That is Axminster's version of my lathe, a PM1236. You will enjoy that immensely:biggrin:

Mike

I noticed it Mike when i spotted the picture of Marshall making his titanium pen  Cant wait to get my hands on one!

It DOES look very familiar to me  The name threw me off.

Maybe just Earl. Wish i had the one i used to use at work many moons ago. used to jog to the other end of it lol. now that, was a lathe

Wow, that is going to be sweet! Now the only thing that needs to happen is you need to move to Fort Myers Florida and join our chapter! That is a sweet lathe, first thing I noticed was that it IS Mike's lathe. That is pretty funny you remembered it from the picture, it gives you an idea of something you can do on it with very little skill . I will have to tell you about something else we did recently, quite interesting. You will find the DRO very useful and will enjoy that a lot! Happy holidays!

And, believe it or not, it is pretty user friendly! But don't say that to someone off the forum...
