Here is an article about an ancient elm that was cut down because of dying of dutch elm disease! Its sad to hear about such a huge and beautiful tree going away... But, my first thought was... dang that would make a lot of beautiful pens! Look at the grain from the trunk :biggrin:

That is sad, but with grain like that there will be a lot of happy woodturners!
