Well now -

I'm not familiar with the cities where the Rutgers Campuses are located except that Newark and Camden are pretty big cities, but Drexel is in mid-town Philadelphia very close to UPenn and Philadelphia isn't NY City but it is a BIG city. The neighborhood will have tons of students and there's probably a lot of interaction socially.

Drexel used have a great program for folks who wanted to work their way through, I had a couple of Drexel Students as interns when I was a line manager at IBM - they made good money while with us to help them with expences. The program did take 5 years to complete though. It is an advantage though becanse a pretty good percentage of interns get job offers from their internship employers. I hired one myself.

Make sure you visit both - my eldest son was accepted at Drexel but chose the Coast Guard Acadamy. Drexel was his 2nd choice and it is a better school now than it was 1n 1981 when he was looking.

I agree with what Smitty said, make sure to actually visit both schools. Talk to the students. Sit in on a class or two if possible.

can't offer any advice on which school... I've hear of Rutgers, but not Drexel...

Either way you go, agree with Smitty & Lenny.... visit the schools if you can.... Congratulations and best wishes on your future.

That was actually going to be one of my choices, the Coast Guard Academy but i missed the deadline

Ryan,

Which engineering program are you interested in? ME? Electrical? etc.

If you want, PM me, and I'll PM you back a phone # if you want to chat. I'm a PhD ME; used to teach, but now in the gov't sector.

In the 90's, I would have chosen Drexel over Rutgers, but we're now 15 yrs later...
