Does anyone know if someone is going to continue running Russ' website. It sure would be a great tribute to him, to keep that up and running so future pen turners can still order some of his dvd's.

I had the same question. I was about to purchase one of the 3 DVD kits and then realized that there may be no one tending the store.

Wayne & Mark you both make some good points. Is there is someone that knows the family and would like to ask at an appropriate time if these items will still be available? Also there are several of his articles that would make a great addition to the IAP library if we could get permission. Russ' logic and way of looking at things has made many of us rethink how we do them.

Yep... There is enough of us that know this information is important to keep. We'll get in contact with the family once the time is more appropriate.

I didn't know Russ. But, as a business person, I can tell you if I knew I was likely to die in a few WEEKS, I'd make darn certain there was a PLAN.

I suspect Russ spent many hours discussing this with his family.

There could well be a week or so they don't do much, but I suspect they "have a plan" for succession. It was NOT a "total surprise" death.

The knowledge and the workmanship just is displayed with such greatness on this site and any other forum that he participated in. I hope things such as this get saved and protected for all us turners to someday look back on and continue to use to better ourselves.

Hi All,

I have been in touch with Russ's Wife, Gerry, and we've talked a little about this, but as was mentioned, it is a little early to make decisions. But she wants his information to go on, and we have some offers of help, including Jeff here at the IAP. But it's just too early yet.

I went ahead and ordered the DVD's from the web site anyway. If nothing else it's extra income for the family.

Gerry did tell me today that she wants to continue to sell the videos, and that she could use the money. So yes, order the videos.

Well, understand that it might be a while before the orders are fulfilled as she has other things going on right now. Any of his turned items are no longer available and she will have to cancel any of those orders, but the videos are still going to go out. Thanks for understanding!
