No arguing that the WalMart point protectors are pricey. I like them because they are locally available, the two sizes fit large and small tubes and they come with holes in the center.

the ones i bought (believe they have 2 sizes, not sure) are 3/8" on the small and 29/64 on top.....I have used them in sierra/wall streets and the jr series.

They sand/grind down real easy so you can get to fit a 7mm. I just use the side of the grinder and give them a spin and they fit fine. I bought a 1000 bag off eBay

I've been using these and they're NOT cheap. But when I'm done, I throw
them into a jar of acetone and they come out just like new. Not sure why
they shouldn't last pretty much forever..

The ones with the round base on them will let you stand up a tube (if you
cast vertical)

The resin will pour right over them and it comes right off. (do NOT use the
small size as they'll get sucked right into the tubes when you put them in the
pressure pot. DAMHIKT)

Then again, I've only cast a few times, and never successfully.
