Hey guys, I got myself a slab of rosewood burl and some other sorts of burl. I was just wondering if there was anyone interested in it, enough for me to have them cut to blanks.

But this will take a while since I'm now back in Singapore once again. I need to go back to kalimantan where I've been the last few weeks to have it cut up.

If anything, just take it as me showing off. Lol.

Wondering how much would anyone pay for a piece of rosewood burl this size.

65cm X 38cm X 9cm.

It's a beautiful piece of wood, and I do not think you should cut it into pen blanks without first considering other options.

That said - I don't think it's burl. If it is, then it's the first time I've ever seen a piece of burl that has pith, complete with the type of checking that is common to pith (as in the "bull's eye with radial checks").

I agree I do not think that is burl. I think it is a knot and it will not be very stable unless you stabilize it. Would it make some pretty pens, it might. Lots of character is lost in a small piece of wood as opposed to looking at the large picture. Good luck.

They are some beautiful pieces of wood, but I must 2nd @Curly . Everything Rosewood, and then some, has been added to the Cites list in 2017, and requires a certificate to cross most international boarders. Even finished products, using these woods, are require certificates.
It has made it very difficult, for us small artisans, to make things and ship them cross boarder.
