Ring Boxes

A few more ring/jewelry boxes that I turned recently. The process involves hollowing out the wooden cookies (both top/bottom) lids
and making sure that you have a nice straight plane surface. Insert a brass pin to act as a sliding hinge. Finish with your preferred
sealer/finish and you are basically done. It's a nice rustic looking project that takes little time but yields good results. Thanks for looking.

If you drill from the bottom and capture both top/bottom lid then you will be in perfect alignment. I use a 3mm diameter
brass rod for the hinge. Do not drill the top lid right through and thereby avoiding the brass from showing.

A friend of mine uses a brass pin hinge and then puts small pin rare earth magnets opposite the brass pin.
