Neil (Wolftat) did a review on this. I have the lathe, just haven't decided if I want to put VS on it. The belt is simple to switch, and most of the time I run it at full speed.

I just did one in Jan. Well worth the price and very easy to do. the only thing I did wrong was I bent the shaft on the AC motor while trying to get the pulley off. No need to take the pulley off as they send you two new pulleys with the new kit. Factory Tech Service is the best I have ever expierenced.

I did the conversion nearly 3 years ago. One thing that I noticed was that the VS is great for pens, but the VS motor does not have the power of the original . . . in case you decide to turn some 3 to 6 in deep bowls of 10 or 11 inch diameter. It can be done but there is an absence of power that belt changing alone doesn't make up. But for pens, small bowls and even 12 inch plates, the VS does great.
