I didn't much care for the instructions that came with the old fashioned style pepper mill hardware . It was a time consuming process to recess the base of it down into the wood with those four extensions around the base and the dimensions were too tall and too narrow at the bottom for my liking .Also by mounting the hardware right up on top instead of hiding the base of it I think it looks nicer seeing all of it . Best part is that it takes half the time to make the base this way than with the instruction sheet provided . Oh yeah . . . I am keeping this one for myself . .
