Hello to the group,

Many years ago when I still had hair on the top of my head, I was active on the IAP website. As my studio work grew and I began demonstrating all across the U.S, my schedule did not allow me to participate much in online forums. My last posting back then on the IAP website was from 2007…

I finally retired a few years ago (after 20+ years as a professional wiodturner) from my studio "Eurowood Werks." I'm now returning to my studio work after we complete some final remodelling work on our home and my studio. I'm looking forward to the next artistic chapter in my studio work…

I credit the late John Jordan for my decision to become a professional woodturner… Whilst on vacation one year, my wife and I stopped at a gallery where John had some of his hollow forms on display. After viewing his elegant hollow forms, I knew I wanted to become a woodturner!

I took a woodturning class from John at his home in Tennessee back then and I began my career in woodturning… I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. He was such a major force in the woodturning world and I was proud to call him my friend and mentor.

I completely understand as I have just returned after a 7 year absence myself. Welcome back my friend. This is a great place with awesome folks.

Welcome back and looking forward to your work.
We are at the age when hair migrates from our head to our ears and nose.
Thanks for the kind words… You are spot on with the "hair" comment! My brother, who is seven years older than me, still has a full thick head of hair.

He lays it on "thick" that I don't have much hair anymore, when we get together for an Italian car rally through the East Texas Piney woods. Too funny!

Cheers!

Thanks so much for your comments… I've spent some time looking around today on the IAP site. There is lots of great information and an active community of members.

Cheers!

just claim your " streamlined " now with maturity !

Welcome back

And another Welcome back. Keep posting and show us some of your turnings. I think we would enjoy seeing them.
Thanks for your reply! I'm looking forward to starting a new core focus for my studio and blending that with my traditional exploration and research of new tools and techniques.

Cheers!
