My 1 day employment

image001.jpg

So after landing my new job as a Wal-Mart greeter, a good find for many retirees, I lasted less than a day.... About two hours into my first day on the job a very loud, unattractive, mean-acting woman walked into the store with her two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance. I said pleasantly, 'Good morning and welcome to Wal-Mart. Nice children you have there. Are they twins?' The ugly woman stopped yelling long enough to say, 'Hell no, they ain't twins. The oldest one's 9, and the other one's 7. Why the hell would you think they're twins? Are you blind, or stupid?' So I replied, 'I'm neither blind nor stupid, Ma'am, I just couldn't believe someone slept with you twice. Have a good day and thank you for shopping at Wal-Mart.' My supervisor said I probably wasn't cut out for this line of work.

Thank you for such an inspirational post, we see quite a few Big Ugly Mean and Nasty females like that around here, I had almost considered trying for a job like that to fill in a few days a week. Your post may have saved several lives, mine among them!

That greeting was the coolest of them all. If I had been in your shoes...I would have done the same. Sometimes it just burns my $$$, that people can be so arrogant and just down right mean spirited. You did good.

Very funny:biggrin:.

BTW, you can't display a photo from your PC, it has to be a link to someplace on the web. I use Photobucket, but there are several. You can however upload a picture as a thumbnail. If you need help with linking photos, let me know.

:biggrin:My wife told me there was a new smart***** greeter at walmart:biggrin:

When I retired 9 years ago my family asked me what I was going to do. Told them I was going to be greeter at WalMart. They about chocked and told me I wasn't PC enough to be a greeter at any store. After seeing pictures of WalMartians, I have to agree.

Well said my friend, I'm afraid I would not be suitable for that line of work either as you and I are of like minds!!! And I would probably have said the same thing !!!!!!!!!!

LOL same thing happened with my father! Some rude prick got in his face and he gave him what for within hours of landing the coveted Greeters possition!

He finds charity work very rewarding.

I think it would take me a little time to get tossed for telling a customer to stuff it -- but I would get tossed. They get mad at me when I walk past without showing them my sales slip or letting them check the bags on the way out.

LOL one pulled that on me when I was in Michigan last......."do you have a warrant? Probably cause to believe I have committed a crime? If so you'd better call the police, if you touch my stuff without an officer present I'll brake your arm! We still have a 4th amendment! And you are not a police officer!"

I dont think I have ever been asked here, I am about average in tolerance for that kind of thing for an Alaskan.

I cause a panic once in a plaza...a store had those devices on their clothes that they need to remove or an alarm goes off when you leave the store. A harried clerk was checking me out and trying to help a couple of other customers and talk on the phone at the same time and missed one of those - I didn't notice. I walked from the checkout to the door and went outside and all of a sudden it sounded like a 3 alarm fire as the alarm went off. I figured it was a car alarm somewhere and just kept walking - the poor clerk came running out of the store hollering "Wait! Wait! When she caught up with me, she immediately realized what happened and we went back in. As I was leaving the second time the police arrived. I kinda felt sorry for her ---- but not too sorry.
