Removing the gold cap accent

I did several searches but I cant seem to find info on how to remove the gold accent on the cap of many kits. Can I heat it a bit with a soldering iron like the crystal in a majestic kit? Thanks very much for the help.

Which kits? The Jr. Gent and Statesman top accents pop out very easily, just put a transfer punch or dowel inside and tap it with a hammer.

Same way, set the finial over a hole and use a transfer punch and whack it with a hammer the gold piece will pop out.. DON'T use heat
