Remember that rifle I was refinishing to take north with me? The one that had been broken off then left on someones garage floor for a couple of decades?

The rebluing turned out great!

Thanks guys! I plan on glass packing and assembeling the rifle tomarow. I have to get a good chunk of the boat cover done too but a mans got to take breaks from time to time.......I'll post pics of it finished.

Both projects are for the mammoth/fossil walrus ivory trip, I am thinking I will update that thread. Give folks an idea of the work that gose into living on the tundra for a month!

I couldn't wait so I did a dry fit tonight. It fits nicely, if a touch barrel heavy, but I expected that from a "feather weight stock". Can't wait to take it to the range! I have wanted a .270 as long as I have wanted to do this trip......about 35 years! When I was about ten I read about a group who went to the slope to hunt caribou and found mammoth tusk in a stream they were fishing. That was all it took!

The wife takes a mighty fine photo even when her subject is less than perfect! I really like this photo for it's lighting, sence of motion and mood and I get a kick out of the fact that it's our dinning room.

Thats the plant stand my wife keeps her tomatoes on!
