I still need to work on my photography (for larger items in particular) and my shape (the inside of the bowl is not as smooth a curve as I'd like), but I like the color/figure in this bowl.

Your thoughts are welcome.

Well done. Try shooting a picture of the bowl maybe tilted or
from the side. I find that when shooting bowls I need less light
than when shooting pens.

Here is a quick example of a small elm bowl.

Barry, may I ask what you used for a finish? How about a shot or two of the bowl from the top and bottom. I would like to see what you did to mount the burl on your lathe.

Excellent bowl and I am with all the others on the amazing colors of this species of wood. :D

Thanks for the comments, folks.

I'll work on some more pictures. I was trying to capture some of the top and bottom in one picture, but I should have just tried multiple views.

The mounting was a bit of a struggle since, with the burl, I didn't have a full base to hold on to. I ended up turning most of the inside with tail stock support and then cut out the remaining center "column" at the end.

The finish was wipe-on poly and the picture was taken after the first 3 coats (I've since done a few more).
