Red Alder Bowl

Red Alder Bowl rough turned at Chris Hansen shop in Santa Ynez from some fresh cut logs last Christmas and just recently finish turned. Around 12" (30cm) across, finished with polyurethane. Too big for my light tent had to shoot outdoors on a towel.

Looks like it's still wet with the finish you used. And the shape compliments the timber. Well done!!!

Scott - I try to make finishes that look "wet", sometime I succeed!

Roger - I hope to get more of this wood some day, but it only grows 2500 miles away!

I live in WA so have a plentiful supply of alder and believe that it is a very underrated wood.
Its very nice to see someone else other than myself enjoy it.
