Long story short power company would not schedule turn on of a meter until all electric work was complete and inspected by the city. Electric contractor upset because he can't check to see if everything works as it should because electric company won't turn on meter until he is done and it is inspected. This is for a business unit and the owner of the business is unhappy. When I left the electric company I was told if it got inspected today and the paper work was in their office before 7:00 am tomorrow morning they would put it on tomorrow's schedule. I double checked, so did the city inspector who was standing right beside me. He was there trying to get our building's addresses straight. Both of us heard in by 7:00 am means on the schedule.
Work is finished, city inspector signed off, contractor left-he lives 3 hours away (I had to bring in an electrician from another town, which is another long story). I call the electric company to schedule turn-on for tomorrow. I get told it could take 48 hours for turn on. I said "wait a minute, you told me it would be scheduled for tomorrow if the inspection was in before 7:00am tomorrow. It will be there before the end of today."
She said "it could take 48 hours."
Here is the catch, they don't work on Friday. So, if it does not miraculously get turned on tomorrow it "MIGHT be some time Monday, maybe." Good thing the business owner is going out of town tomorrow and Friday. If the power is not on he may have to slum it with my welders. Good welders just not what he is used to.
OK. Frustrated rant complete.
