I got a call from a woman in December saying that they were partners with DC in the "Go-Green" initiative.
Okay.
Does your office have a water cooler?
Yeah.
We'd like to talk to you about switching to a water filter and stopping the need for water bottles which take a lot of energy to recycle.
Um, according to Deerpark, the jugs are sterilized and reused. Not the high energy recycling.
Well, they won't really tell us what they do so do you want to take a chance?
Why don't you send me some info on this and I'll get back to you. (I was really getting bored with the call)
I then get an email with a link to an article written by a obviously very biased (likely paid) advocate about the sins of bottle water and info on a testing of 176 brands.
I delve a little deeper into the test and see that the test is only about disclosure on labels and web-sites of 1) source of water 2) treatment of the water and 3) purity test results. No actual testing of the water was done, just a look at the label and a search of the web-site.
Complete waste of my time. I emailed her back pointing out that it had nothing to do with Recycling or "go-green" and saying don't bother calling again.
